Are there winter tires designed specifically for electric vehicles (EVs)? Yes and no… Several tire manufacturers are now promoting their own versions of winter tires for EVs. For the moment, however, most major brand winter tires are already compatible with EVs—for example, Nokian’s Hakkapeliitta 10 EV or Pirelli’s Elect line
Each major manufacturer (or almost) also has a major mid-range brand that markets quality winter tires which, in many cases, are less technologically advanced but still highly effective and reliable. For example, Michelin owns the BFGoodrich brand, which offers T/A KSI winter tires, while Bridgestone continues to provide the American-origin Firestone, which markets the affordable Winterforce line
The third category of winter tires comes from various manufacturers, many of them quite serious, but with rather limited innovations. However, even if they're not performance or innovation-driven products, they can meet specific needs that are more or less demanding
