Sumitomo to rebrand as Dunlop

Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) has officially agreed to change its name to Dunlop starting in 2026. The decision was made during a board meeting held on November 27 and applies to the global market. As a result, in North America, Sumitomo Rubber North America will become Dunlop Tires North America Inc. as of January 2026.

Earlier this year, SRI completed its acquisition of the Dunlop brand by purchasing it from Goodyear. At the same time, SRI announced its intention to establish Dunlop as a global brand through new technological development, increased positioning as an original equipment supplier for automakers, and greater visibility in motorsports. A notable expansion of the Dunlop name in the North American market is therefore expected.
