Nokian is generally regarded as a Finnish tire brand, but the company also operates manufacturing plants elsewhere in the world, notably in the United States and Romania.

On December 20, the Oradea plant in Romania produced its one-millionth tire, a Snowproof 2 winter tire. The facility was officially inaugurated in September 2024, although it had already begun shipping tires as early as March of the same year. It should be noted that the Romanian plant—Nokian’s largest facility—operates without the use of fossil fuels.

The approximately 500 employees also manufacture Seasonproof 2 all-season tires and Powerproof 2 summer tires at this location. However, none of these products are intended for the U.S. market.
