Pirelli launches its new Scorpion Winter 3

Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli has just announced the launch of its new Scorpion Winter 3, a winter tire specifically designed for SUVs.
Its tread pattern incorporates several innovative features, including a zigzag central groove that helps evacuate water and improves lateral grip on snow. There's also Pirelli's patented Snow Keeper Teeth technology, which retains snow within the grooves to take advantage of the grip generated by snow-on-snow contact. A high tread void ratio further enhances performance on snow and wet roads while helping to reduce aquaplaning.
The Scorpion Winter 3 is launching in a range of 30 sizes, from 18 to 22 inches. It also offers several specialized technologies, including Elect, which Pirelli says can increase the driving range of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles by up to 10%.
Another available feature is the Pirelli Noise Cancelling System (PNCS), which reduces perceived rolling noise inside the cabin through a special sound-absorbing material integrated into the tire. The Scorpion Winter 3 is also available with Seal Inside technology, which helps maintain air pressure in the event of a puncture caused by an external object.
