The WINGUARD Sport 3 winter tire from global tire manufacturer NEXEN TIRE won the 2025 Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category, further solidifying its position in the automotive industry.
Awarded for the second consecutive year, NEXEN TIRE stands out this time with a tire that blends winter performance with aesthetics. Designed for extreme conditions, the WINGUARD Sport 3 features a V-shaped tread pattern inspired by bird wings, optimizing grip and control on snow. A specially formulated rubber compound maintains flexibility even at very low temperatures, ensuring safety and reliability.
The design goes beyond performance: the tire sidewall includes dynamic graphic elements and a snowflake, giving this seasonal product a strong visual identity.
Another technological advantage is that NEXEN TIRE used AI-based virtual simulations to optimize the design before physical testing, thereby reducing development time.
The WINGUARD Sport 3 will be launched in Europe in winter 2025. This award reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its global presence as an original equipment supplier for premium automakers.
