Acura, the luxury division of renowned automaker Honda, recently announced plans to introduce two new models. The first would be a large eight-passenger SUV positioned above the current MDX, while the other would be a more capable version of the Honda Passport SUV.
The larger vehicle is currently known by the working name Acura XL, with production reportedly scheduled for the third quarter of 2029. It is expected to be built at a new Honda plant in Ohio. Honda projects annual sales of approximately 40,000 units.
As for the Passport-based model, it is expected to feature more rugged styling, reflecting a growing trend in this segment of the automotive industry.
