PPG’s color of the year: Violet Basil

Major American paint manufacturer PPG named Violet Basil as the 2025 Automotive Color of the Year. According to company representatives, this choice reflects the growing demand from motorists for a “personalized experience” when it comes time to select their vehicle’s paint color.

Violet Basil is described as a deep shade, the result of a blend of blue and red, creating a final effect that evokes kinetic energy, according to PPG. Depending on the market, this color may also be known as Amethyst Shadow or Açaí Berry.
