Major American paint manufacturer PPG named Violet Basil as the 2025 Automotive Color of the Year. According to company representatives, this choice reflects the growing demand from motorists for a “personalized experience” when it comes time to select their vehicle’s paint color.

Violet Basil is described as a deep shade, the result of a blend of blue and red, creating a final effect that evokes kinetic energy, according to PPG. Depending on the market, this color may also be known as Amethyst Shadow or Açaí Berry.
