The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show: a new venue, justas much excitement

The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS) held its 8th edition from May 2 to 4, 2025 at the Stade IGA in Jarry Park, marking a significant turning point in the event’s history. This change of venue, prompted by renovation work at the Olympic Stadium, offered a more central and accessible setting, enhancing the show’s appeal for both attendees and exhibitors.

This edition brought together over 80 exhibitors and showcased 69 electric vehicles from 23 different brands, ranging from cars to SUVs, as well as electric motorcycles and scooters. Attendees had the chance to take part in more than 2 843 test drives with 80 vehicles available, along with over 4 000 test drive of small electric vehicles, such as bikes, e-scooters, and e-mopeds, on a dedicated indoor track.

The show also featured around twenty panels led by industry experts, covering diverse topics like choosing a first electric car, purchasing used EVs, range-related challenges, and the environmental impact of electric vehicles. Notables such as

Simon-Pierre Rioux from AVÉQ and representatives from CAA-Québec shared their expertise and answered audience questions.

In July 2024, MEVS was acquired by the Salon international de l’auto de Montréal (SIAM), a transaction aimed at consolidating the strengths of both events while preserving MEVS’s unique identity. This acquisition promises stronger organization and an enhanced experience for future editions.

Despite logistical challenges related to the venue change and the economic climate, MEVS 2025 was a resounding success, drawing an enthusiastic crowd and confirming the growing interest in electric mobility throughout Quebec. The event continues to play a key role in promoting clean technologies and educating the public on the advantages of electric vehicles.
