Believe it or not, Saudi Arabia's first homegrown vehicles are exotic electric models producing up to 838 hp! You read that right! Electric! Despite its enormous oil reserves, Saudi Arabia is entering the automotive industry with Ceer's spectacular electric vehicles, featuring BMW-derived technology, Foxconn engineering and styling by a former McLaren designer.
As part of Saudi Arabia's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060, the Ceer Exobot sedan and SUV are each powered by three electric motors producing a combined 838 hp (850 PS) and 738 lb-ft of torque. That translates into a claimed 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 2.6 seconds for the sedan and 2.9 seconds for the SUV.
Ceer uses technology licensed from BMW, which signed an agreement with the company when it launched in 2022, according to BMWBlog. The motors come from two suppliers: Rimac Technology provides the rear electric drive unit, while Hyundai Transys supplies the front motors. The platform itself comes from Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn, which is looking to expand beyond electronics manufacturing into electric vehicle production. Foxconn supplies the platform and electrical architecture that it also uses for its own Foxtron electric vehicles intended for the domestic market.
