Nissan has just unveiled its new 2027 Rogue Hybrid, adding another electrified powertrain option to its best-selling SUV. The model will be sold alongside the existing gasoline-powered Rogue for the 2027 model year, while a fully redesigned non-hybrid version is reportedly expected in 2028. The new Rogue Hybrid replaces the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid, a rebadged Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
The Rogue Hybrid now features Nissan's e-POWER system, which combines a gasoline engine, a battery and two electric motors. Unlike a conventional hybrid, the gasoline engine doesn't drive the wheels directly. Instead, the electric motors provide propulsion, delivering immediate torque and smoother acceleration without the need to plug in the vehicle. Although it could be considered an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV), the Rogue Hybrid doesn't have a charging port.
Nissan will offer standard all-wheel drive and its e-Pedal system with Smooth Stop technology. The Rogue Hybrid will also feature an enhanced version of ProPILOT Assist, hands-free traffic jam assistance and automatic lane changes.
