Helderburg, a premium builder of classic Land Rover Defenders, introduces Lazare, a one-of-one five-door Defender 110 that showcases the brand’s commitment to heritage craftsmanship combined with proprietary modern engineering. Built on a classic Defender chassis, Lazare has been comprehensively re-engineered using in-house machining, hand-fabricated components, and engineering practices rarely applied in the Defender world.

At its heart lies Helderburg’s exclusive 2.8-liter turbo diesel, derived from the Land Rover 300Tdi and rebuilt with CNC-machined internals, including a proprietary cylinder head, crankshaft, connecting rods, VNT turbo, and stainless exhaust. The result is an engine designed for extreme longevity, efficiency, and real-world usability.

“We built this truck to be a true globe-trotter,” said Paul Potratz, Founder and CEO, citing projected engine life of 500,000 to 800,000 miles and fuel economy of 28–32 mpg without complex emissions systems.

Custom suspension geometry, high-performance CNC braking, bespoke interior craftsmanship, acoustic glass, and premium audio elevate Lazare into a refined long-distance touring vehicle—while preserving the unmistakable Defender silhouette.
