BMW Unveils Its New X5 SUV

German luxury automaker BMW has unveiled the 2027 version of its popular X5 SUV.

The ceremony took place in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where the X5 has been built since 1999. The local plant has also recently undergone an upgrade costing approximately US$1.7 billion, with the goal of producing electric vehicles there.

BMW also assembles the X3, X6, X7 and XM at this facility.

When the X5 launches next October, the vehicle will be offered with various powertrains, including the 40 xDrive, electric and hybrid configurations, as well as a V8-powered M performance version, starting in 2027.
