The all-new Hyundai Elantra has just been unveiled at the Busan Auto Show in South Korea. In its home market, it is actually called the Avante, but there is a strong possibility that its North American Elantra version will be marketed in nearly identical form.
Completely redesigned, this popular sedan is expected to be slightly larger than the current version, and even larger than the Honda Civic. One notable design element is the reduced size of the front headlights, which now appear as slim light units. At the rear, Hyundai's signature styling is recognizable in the taillight design, which forms an H-shaped pattern.
Inside, the most striking feature is the larger screen integrated into the dashboard. Under the hood, all indications suggest that the base engine will remain the 2.0-litre four-cylinder rated at 147 horsepower. However, the hybrid version is expected to feature a 1.6-litre four-cylinder paired with an electric motor, for a combined output of 155 horsepower.
