The 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport turns a page in its history. As Toyota officially states, the SUV retires its naturally aspirated V6 in favor of a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (278 hp, 317 lb-ft) paired with an 8-speed automatic. An i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain is also available on select grades, broadening the appeal for buyers focused on efficiency. Toyota USA Newsroom
Now built on the TNGA-F platform shared with Tacoma and Tundra, the 4Runner gains rigidity and size. The cabin has been thoroughly updated: an available 14-inch touchscreen, digital instrumentation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Toyota also adds Safety Sense 3.0 and offers a 360° Panoramic View Monitor, bringing the model in line with current standards, as confirmed in Toyota Canada’s release (FR). Toyota Média
On the road, the TRD Sport prioritizes comfort and stability, even if the firmer suspension still reflects its adventure-ready DNA.
