German tire manufacturer Continental took advantage of Quebec's winter conditions to present and allow testing of its brand-new winter tire, the Viking Contact 8. This model will soon replace the renowned Viking Contact 7, although some sizes of the latter will remain available for a limited time.

For this event, Continental chose the ICAR motorsports complex in Mirabel. The Viking 8 is an entirely new design, featuring a redesigned carcass and an all-new rubber compound. It has also been developed to meet the demands of electric vehicles and is certified for ice traction.

The Viking Contact 8 is expected to be available on the market by next fall.
