German automaker Mercedes-Benz has just announced the upcoming arrival of a luxury van capable of carrying up to eight occupants, the VLE. However, there’s a catch: the vehicle will be fully electric.

Based on the new VAN.EA platform — which notably includes rear-axle steering — the VLE will feature an 800-volt electrical architecture with charging capacity of up to 115 kW and an estimated driving range of more than 450 kilometers.

Equipped with all-wheel drive, the VLE will produce 409 horsepower, allowing it to tow up to 5,500 pounds.

The interior will stand out with a high-end finish, including advanced entertainment systems and a highly modular cabin layout.

Naturally, no pricing has yet been announced.
