American travel trailer manufacturer Airstream, known around the world for the lightweight and aerodynamic design of its products, has unveiled its most affordable trailer on the North American market, the new World Traveler 17RB.
It will start at US$64,400, or approximately C$88,000, which is about US$4,500 less than the Bambi, previously the brand's most affordable model.
The World Traveler measures 17 feet in length, compared with 16 feet for the Bambi. This new trailer weighs just 3,150 pounds, making it possible to tow with smaller SUVs or compact pickup trucks such as the Ford Maverick or Toyota RAV4.
One of its most distinctive features is its rectangular side windows, which replace the curved corner windows that have long been an iconic Airstream design element. The new windows are made of acrylic, in part to help reduce weight.
