What if Nissan and Honda teamed up to create a mid-size pickup?

According to a report by Japanese publication Nikkei Asia, Japanese automakers Nissan and Honda are reportedly in talks to develop a mid-size pickup truck aimed at competing with the popular Ford Ranger.
Despite the failure of their previous joint venture a few months ago, the two Japanese rivals are still considering a partnership. Under the new plan, Nissan would use its underutilized plant in Canton, Mississippi, to build pickup trucks for Honda.
Currently, Honda only offers the unibody Ridgeline pickup in the North American market. This new initiative would represent a valuable opportunity to challenge the Ford Ranger.
In the same vein, Stellantis is reportedly preparing its own mid-size pickup, while Hyundai is said to be on the verge of launching a similar model with assistance from GM.
