Japanese automaker Mazda has just unveiled its fully redesigned 2026 CX-5. This third-generation model features a design inspired by the recently introduced CX-70 and CX-90.

Among the key features announced by Mazda are enhanced rear seat comfort and increased cargo space.

On the technical side, Mazda promises a larger touchscreen with integrated Google services, along with several new ADAS functions.

The 2026 CX-5 will launch in spring 2026 with a 2.5L SkyActiv-G four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive.

However, an electrified option will not arrive until 2027, when the CX-5 will introduce an all-new hybrid powertrain featuring the SkyActiv-Z engine equipped with Mazda’s proprietary hybrid system technology.
