According to a press release from Japanese automaker Toyota, the company will invest over US $50 million in the Arizona Mobility Test Centre, located at its Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds. The project includes a new 5.5-mile (8.9-km) track, a road-behaviour surface, an off-road park, and several pads for various tests. These improvements are expected to be completed in 2025. There will also be a dedicated area for the development and testing of advanced driver-assistance technologies.

The test centre is located about 100 kilometres north of Phoenix, in the Sonoran Desert. Opened in 1993, it has contributed to the improvement of more than 50 Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Since 2021, it has also been available to suppliers and competitors upon request.
