Ford Announces a Midsize Electric Pickup

Despite declining sales in the electric vehicle segment, several automakers are preparing new and exciting developments in this field. Among them is Ford, whose energetic president, Jim Farley, recently spoke of a “Model T Moment.”

This “Model T Moment” meant that Ford would produce an all-new pickup truck — a midsize version of the Lightning — but at a very competitive price point. In fact, Ford is targeting a price of under USD $30,000, which would translate to about CAD $35,000 (unless tariffs complicate matters!).

This vehicle, described as highly affordable and extremely versatile — it could even power a home for six days — will be assembled at Ford’s Louisville, Kentucky plant, which is currently undergoing major renovations. Within the industry, there are whispers about the possible return of the Ranchero name, but more will be known once the vehicle is officially unveiled.
