A $85,000 paint job?

a-85-000-paint-job

The Bentley Flying Spur shown here features a paint finish valued at £48,000 (or $84,658 CAD). This “Ombré by Mulliner” finish required no less than 60 hours of meticulous handwork to blend two colours into a seamless gradient.

The car was unveiled at the Southampton International Boat Show. Its paint transitions from Topaz Blue at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear. The work was carried out by hand at the Dream Factory in Crewe, England, by two craftsmen who devoted approximately 60 hours to the process.

Technically, the colours were applied from front to back, gradually transitioning at the doors, roof, and sills. Since each layer of paint reacts differently, the final effect may vary from one vehicle to another, making every Bentley Ombré unique.

Two additional variations are offered: from Sunburst Gold to Orange Flame, or from Tungsten to Onyx. More options are expected in the future.
