The 2025 Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières kicked off in style on Friday, August 8, launching the festivities of its 55th edition in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The day was highlighted by the first practice and qualifying sessions, notably for the Nissan Sentra Cup — a highly anticipated series this year thanks to the exceptional participation of Bruno Spengler. The 2012 DTM champion took his first laps on the famous street circuit, experiencing for the first time the challenge of driving a front-wheel-drive car in such a demanding environment. His on-track performance quickly drew attention, confirming he would be one of the drivers to watch closely over the weekend.

On Saturday, August 9, the competition intensified. The Nissan Sentra Cup delivered a spectacular first race, with multiple overtakes and a fierce battle at the front, where Spengler showcased all his skill. The excitement in the stands was palpable, as fans enjoyed this unique blend of young talents and seasoned drivers.

The day also featured the NASCAR Canada series, another cornerstone of the GP3R. Practice and qualifying sessions allowed drivers to prepare for Sunday’s main event, offering a preview of the intensity to come. The roar of the cars through the streets of Trois-Rivières reminded everyone why NASCAR remains one of the weekend’s highlights.

These first two days offered the perfect mix of adrenaline, entertainment, and prestige, setting the bar high for the rest of GP3R 2025.
