Nissan Motor Co. has become one of the first collateral victims of the recent fire that crippled Novelis’ aluminum recycling plant in Oswego, New York. This division of the Japanese automaker was forced to cancel production at its most important facility — the Smyrna, Tennessee plant — on October 24 and 27 due to a shortage of parts used in the construction of several of its vehicles, including the very popular Rogue SUV.

The automaker reports that it is actively seeking another aluminum supplier. It should be noted that this fire has also affected vehicle production at Ford and Stellantis.
