Toyota updates its Tundra

Competition is fierce in the pickup truck segment. Japanese automaker Toyota knows this well, as it faces American giants Ford, GM and Stellantis with its own full-size pickup, the Tundra.

To remain competitive, Toyota regularly updates its truck. That is exactly what it has done for the 2027 model year.

The automaker relied on teams from Toyota Motor North America, including those at CALTY Design Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As a result, the 2027 Tundra adopts a more modern and functional front end while retaining the rugged appearance that defines the model.

Toyota is also adding a new Trailhunter package, based on the SR5 trim and aimed at drivers looking for greater off-road capability. It includes Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires, an upgraded Old Man Emu suspension, front recovery hooks and additional underbody protection.

With these changes, Toyota aims to strengthen the Tundra's capabilities while giving it a more refined appearance that reflects the evolving tastes of its customers.
