Global automotive giant Stellantis took advantage of its investor day last Thursday to announce the imminent arrival of two new pickup trucks: the compact Rampage and the midsize Dakota.
The Rampage already exists in South America as a small pickup built on the Jeep Compass platform. This vehicle is expected to compete with the Ford Maverick.
As for the Dakota, it is expected to return as a midsize pickup with a body-on-frame construction. While the first could be assembled in Mexico, the second could be built in Toledo, Ohio, and may even become the most powerful truck in its segment, according to its director, Tim Kuniskis. Could it then go head-to-head with the 405-horsepower Ford Ranger Raptor?
These two new models will be part of the 60 new or updated vehicles Stellantis has promised by 2030, including 23 for the North American market.
It is also worth noting that Stellantis has just unveiled the Ram Rumble Bee SRT, a high-performance pickup delivering some 777 horsepower.
