Volkswagen has officially unveiled its all-new ID. Tiguan, a fully electric SUV scheduled to replace the ID.4 and ID.5 in Europe beginning in early 2027. Borrowing the name of one of the German automaker's most successful vehicles, the new model features completely redesigned styling, a more refined interior and a host of updated technologies.
Built on Volkswagen's MEB+ platform, the ID. Tiguan will offer powertrains producing up to 220 kW (299 metric horsepower), a driving range of up to 600 kilometres under the European WLTP testing cycle and a maximum towing capacity of two tonnes. Inside, Volkswagen is introducing a redesigned display layout, an optional passenger screen, more intuitive controls and advanced driver assistance technologies. The SUV also promises improved everyday practicality thanks to its spacious cabin and additional storage compartment under the front hood.
Volkswagen also plans to introduce the ID. Tiguan as the successor to the ID.4 in North America. However, market-specific launch dates, configurations, pricing and specifications have yet to be announced. The automaker expects to share further details following the European launch.
