Training offensive for the industry: A Coordinated Strategy for Skills Development

Innoviste has taken on a major challenge by launching an ambitious strategy aimed at deploying a coordinated action plan for skills development and training delivery across Quebec. The main goal: to broaden access to training in all regions and bring together all stakeholders in the sector to maximize synergies and achieve greater impact.

This initiative brings together a wide range of contributors, including associations, banners, automobile parity committees, business services, vocational training centers, as well as private trainers and organizations such as CEMEQ, Auto Prévention, and CAA-Québec. All have stepped up to take on this major undertaking.

Why Such Mobilization?

The Training Offensive is based on three major strategic pillars:

  • Enhancing Qualifications and Skills: Increase workers' skills to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
  • Encouraging Collaboration Among Stakeholders: Shift from a competitive dynamic to one of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Harmonizing Initiatives: Create coherence among the actions of different players to maximize training impact.

Progress So Far

Since the launch of the Training Offensive for the motor vehicle industry in June 2024, significant progress has been made. A broad consultation initiative has brought together stakeholders both individually and collectively to establish a shared vision.

This phase helped deepen mutual understanding, clarify missions, roles, and responsibilities, identify key issues and challenges, and finally, define priorities and develop an action plan.

A steering committee for the Training Offensive, composed of 15 representatives from key organizations, has been formed. In parallel, an implementation committee has also been created to ensure the operational rollout of initiatives.

The Next Step: Strengthening Partnerships

To ensure the success of the Offensive, it is essential to establish strategic partnerships that will support complementarity and alignment among initiatives. The goal is to mobilize all players around a coherent and effective implementation of the action plan, while respecting the missions and specificities of each organization.

A shared vision is gradually emerging, but to bring it to life, all stakeholders must adopt a collaborative mindset. Each party must be willing to review and adapt their practices in line with broader needs. This involves recognizing areas of discomfort, naming them, and working together to develop innovative solutions.

Toward More Accessible and Effective Training

The Training Offensive marks a decisive turning point in how training will be delivered in Quebec. By emphasizing a coordinated approach and strengthening cooperation among all players, this initiative paves the way for a more effective training system, better suited to the realities of the labor market and more accessible to all workers in the sector.

A huge thank you to the partners for their commitment and contribution to this collective transformation.
