The Camaro returns to the track

It’s official! Even though the Chevrolet Camaro is no longer in production, NASCAR has approved the continued presence of this model in competition this year. As a result, Chevrolet designers have reworked the grille, side skirts, hood, and — most importantly — revived the name! Last year, Chevrolet insisted that this race car, which competes against the Ford Mustang and Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Cup Series, be identified as a Chevrolet ZL-1. Fortunately, Chevrolet’s management reversed its decision and is bringing back the Camaro name — a move that excites speculators who see it as a possible sign of the model’s eventual return to the market.

However, Chevrolet has not yet made a decision regarding the version intended for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (formerly Xfinity). In 2025, Chevrolet’s entries in that category were simply branded Chevrolet SS. We should soon know whether the Camaro name will also be applied to these cars.
