Hyundai donates $250,000 to Charles-Bruneau Foundation to support pediatric cancer art therapy in Quebec

According to a press release dated June 19, 2025, Hyundai Canada, through its charitable foundation Hyundai Hope on Wheels, has donated $250,000 to the Charles-Bruneau Foundation to support the art therapy program at the Charles-Bruneau Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit at CHU de Québec–Université Laval.
This donation is part of Hyundai’s broader $4 million commitment in 2025 to support pediatric oncology centers across Canada. The art therapy initiative provides children and their families with a meaningful outlet to cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of cancer.
“At the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, we believe in treating the whole child—not just the disease,” said Pierre Bruneau, founder of the Foundation. “This generous donation from Hyundai Hope on Wheels will help us sustain and grow our art therapy program here at the Charles-Bruneau Unit of CHU de Québec–Université Laval. This program provides comfort, a means of expression, and a space for healing through creativity. We are deeply grateful for this support.”
Dr. Bruno Michon, Head of the Charles-Bruneau Unit, emphasized, “Providing effective treatments is essential, but not enough. Treating a child with cancer also means caring for their emotional and psychological well-being. Art therapy humanizes care and gives the child a voice in the healing process.”
The donation was highlighted with a Handprint Ceremony, a signature Hyundai Hope on Wheels event, where patients, families, and medical staff left colorful handprints on a white Hyundai vehicle as a symbol of resilience.
