AIA’s Spectacular Golf Day in Portneuf

The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA) held its annual Quebec gathering at Le Grand Portneuf Golf Club, in the Pont-Rouge area near Quebec City, on the last day of May. Naturally, this was a meeting that allowed members of the local industry to connect and discuss current topics and issues.
As a result, over a hundred AIA members headed to the golf club, despite a rather discouraging weather forecast which ultimately turned out to be favourable for a Vegas-style golf tournament in four-player teams (including one foursome from L’Automobile).
However, the most important part of the day took place at dinner, where we learned from Mathieu Côté, AIA's regional president, that the popular Grand Forum event would return on May 28 while the next golf outing is scheduled for September 2026 in Montreal. Details are to follow, as the event's name may change.
Among the guest speakers before dinner was Élisabeth Lambert, owner of Pièces d’auto Joliette, who briefly spoke about her involvement in the Right to Repair legislation. We hope to speak with her soon for L’Automobile. Also worth noting, race car driver Steve Bernard from Pneus Bernard took part in the event but had to leave quickly on business. He’s another person we plan to speak with in the coming months.
president Jean-François Champagne, with whom we had a brief conversation that should eventually lead to an important interview in the publication you are now reading.
Clearly, events like these can only lead to positive outcomes and constructive conversations!
