The third category of winter tires comes from various manufacturers, many of them quite serious, but with rather limited innovations. However, even if they're not performance or innovation-driven products, they can meet specific needs that are more or less demanding.
Take, for example, Uniroyal, which is Michelin's “third” brand. Its Tiger Paw Snow winter tires are reliable and effective, just like some Cooper tires from Goodyear that are often resold by large retailers. Note that GiTi Radials, which now has a factory in America, is beginning to establish itself in the so-called “economy” tire market.
Among the most affordable tires are those imported from China, including Sailun, which is becoming increasingly respectable, as well as Minerva, WestLake, Hercules, and other lesser-known brands. However, more than one expert will recommend caution, since many of these brands haven't yet proven themselves!
