The Atlas is the largest SUV offered by German automaker Volkswagen in North America. Eager to maintain this advantage, Volkswagen has decided to thoroughly redesign it for this market, with a completely new body and updated mechanical components.

Under the hood, it now features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 282 horsepower — 13 more than the previous version — but delivering slightly less torque at 258 lb-ft, a decrease of 15 lb-ft.

Naturally, an eight-speed automatic transmission remains standard, with a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

When it reaches the market, this Atlas will be offered as a 2027 model.
