Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) has reached an important production milestone with the assembly of its two millionth Lexus RX at the South Plant in Cambridge. Since becoming the first facility outside Japan to build a Lexus vehicle in 2003, TMMC has grown into a key hub for luxury SUV manufacturing in North America.

The Lexus RX remains a cornerstone of the brand, accounting for 32% of Lexus sales in Canada. In 2024, 94.2% of all RX models sold nationally were produced at the Cambridge plant. “The Lexus RX remains one of North America’s favourite vehicles, and we thank our team members for their skills, dedication and commitment to manufacturing quality,” said Tim Hollander, President of TMMC.

TMMC employs over 8,500 people and has an annual production capacity exceeding 500,000 units, including the Lexus RX, Lexus NX, and Toyota RAV4.
