Toyota Powers the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s with an All-Electric Fleet

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility as the official partner of the electrified vehicle fleet for the 2025 Canada Summer Games. The event, taking place from August 8 to 25 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, will benefit from a fleet of 50 fully electric Toyota bZ4X vehicles, provided to support logistics, operations, and transportation needs.
This initiative aligns with the organizers’ goal to make the 2025 Games the greenest ever held in Canada. The involvement of all 26 Toyota dealerships in Atlantic Canada underscores the brand’s strong local presence and regional commitment.
“Toyota Canada, along with our Atlantic Canada dealerships, is proud to support the Canada Games by providing a fully electric vehicle fleet,” said Patrick Ryan, Zone Director for Atlantic and Quebec at TCI. He also highlighted the dealerships’ support for local athletes, coaches, and their families.
To enhance the experience, TCI will also provide hands-on training on the bZ4X for volunteers, helping them get fully immersed in the electric driving experience and ensuring the fleet is used efficiently.
For Kim Keating and Karl Smith, Co-Chairs of the Host Society Board of Directors, this partnership is a testament to shared environmental values: “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to sustainability and will help leave a positive, lasting impact in Newfoundland and Labrador, both environmentally and socially.”
With over 4 200 athletes expected to compete, the Canada Games offer a national platform for the next generation of sports talent, including future participants in the Olympic, Paralympic, and Special Olympic Games. Toyota is using this national stage to strengthen its vision of an electrified future.
