Volvo appoints new north american president

As part of a global administrative reorganization creating three new regions, the Americas, China, and Europe and the rest of the world, Volvo’s current President for the United States and Canada, Michael Cottone, who has held the position since 2023 and been with the company for over two decades, is stepping down. He will be succeeded by Luis Rezende, who (shown here in the photo) is currently President of Volvo’s operations in Latin America.

Volvo explains that this reorganization is part of a cost-reduction plan led by CEO Håkan Samuelsson, who returned to this role last month. The plan became necessary due to decreased demand and high U.S. tariffs. Several jobs are also at risk of being eliminated.
