According to multiple reports published by Automotive News, Japanese automaker Honda appears to be facing a complex situation following the setback of its electric vehicle ambitions. To address it, Honda is stepping up its efforts to introduce about 15 new hybrid vehicles by 2030.
However, one of the main casualties of this restructuring could be the Ridgeline pickup, which, again according to Automotive News, may not be able to comply with the latest emissions standards.
As a result, the publication believes Ridgeline production could be put on hold for the next 18 months, with Honda expected to bring it back in 2028 with a redesigned look and, above all, a new V6 engine that is more compliant with regulations.
