Salary Adjustments Under the New CPA Lanaudière-Laurentides Decree

For over 22 years, Sylvain Pelletier has been ensuring the application of the decree as well as providing information and representation to employers, vocational training centers (CFPs), other CPAs, and Business Services (SAEs).

He began his career at CPA L.L. as an inspector. His past union experience, now complemented by his managerial role, highlights the path he has fervently and diligently walked to ensure decree compliance, promote fair competition, and foster the development and recognition of skills.

Since assuming his position, the General Director has been working on numerous projects, including the implementation and introduction of the new decree that came into effect on October 9. Developed after an in-depth analysis of previous versions and various statistics, it reflects evolving needs and realities in the sector. Its aim is to improve the retention and recruitment of a diverse workforce.

A Significant Advance

The fundamental mission of CPA L.L. aligns closely with this decree. We aim for workers to enjoy the best possible conditions for practicing their trade. This decree represents a significant step forward for the automotive industry with the revision of the salary scale. Furthermore, more than half of the employees are unaffected by this increase, Mr. Pelletier notes.

To date, the average salary exceeds negotiated rates by 18.5%. This progress illustrates a gradual movement toward fairer conditions, despite a 20% jump between the previous version and the renewal in October. It is important to note that this increase aligns with the 22% rise in the minimum wage since 2019. (You can find the new decree salaries at: www.cpa-ll.com.)
