It’s primarily in the southwestern United States that desert off-road driving attracts many thrill-seeking enthusiasts. This popularity has led American automaker Ford to develop Raptor versions of its F-150, Bronco, and Ranger models.

However, persistent rumors suggest that the automaker may also be considering a Raptor version of the Mustang. That’s at least what the American publication Hemmings reports, based on statements from the company’s president, who has mentioned the possibility of new variants and approaches for the popular Mustang.

Such a version could be based on the current Mustang’s S650 platform. However, it could also be a very high-end model, inspired by strategies adopted by certain European automakers.
