The Ford Escape Nears its End

the-ford-escape-nears-its-end

That’s it: the highly popular Escape SUV from American automaker Ford is no longer in production at its main assembly plant in Louisville, Kentucky. The Escape now joins the Subaru Legacy, the Kia Soul, and some fifteen other models that will no longer be offered by 2026.

This is certainly not due to a lack of success—quite the opposite. However, demand for the Escape is gradually being overtaken by that for other Ford products, most notably the Bronco Sport, which shares the same platform. Add to this the compact Maverick pickup, also built on this architecture, whose current production capacity can no longer keep pace with strong consumer demand.
