As per tradition, the first eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was entrusted to the Barrett-Jackson group to be auctioned. Unsurprisingly, it was the legendary Rick Hendrick, a renowned Chevrolet dealer and owner of a major NASCAR racing team, who won the bid. This Corvette will join his impressive museum, which already houses over 100 vehicles from the brand.

To acquire this unique piece, Hendrick paid the staggering sum of $3.7 million USD. A significant portion of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to charitable causes, including the Red Cross. Part of the funds will be used to assist victims of the recent major wildfires in California.
