German automaker Daimler took advantage of an event in Shanghai to unveil its latest design study: the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic. What immediately stands out is the large chrome grille, reminiscent of the recently revealed GLC 2027 Electric — despite the limited need for such a feature on a vehicle without a combustion engine.
The Vision Iconic also incorporates several impressive technologies, including a neuromorphic computer, steer-by-wire system, and Level 4 autonomous driving capability. Its experimental “solar” paint is made from photovoltaic paste, which, under ideal conditions, could add up to 11,900 kilometres of extra range per year!
