Canadian auto parts company Linamar Corp. recently announced a $1.1 billion CAD investment in a series of electric vehicle technology projects in southwestern Ontario. This investment will allow the company to better balance its operations between internal combustion engines and its growing portfolio of electric vehicle components.

Linamar will first invest approximately $800 million in several projects in Guelph, Salford, Welland, and Windsor, where it will produce electromechanical axles and lightweight components. The company will also focus on developing semiconductor assemblies for electric vehicle batteries as well as storage tanks for hydrogen-powered vehicles.
