All signs suggest that Ford Motor Company is preparing to launch an advanced technological offensive aimed at the mass automotive market. This strategy will be built on three pillars: a new artificial intelligence assistant, more advanced hands-free driving technology, and a radically redesigned electronic architecture.
These three systems, unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), were developed in-house in order to better control costs and functionality, according to Ford.
The first pillar, the Ford AI Assistant, will debut in Ford and Lincoln model-year 2026 applications. The second, focused on autonomy, represents a major evolution of Ford’s BlueCruise system and is expected to lead to the new Universal Electric Vehicle program slated for 2027. As for the third pillar, it aims to “unify” the vehicle’s “brains,” including infotainment, driver-assistance systems, and networking.
