Could Volvo sedans and wagons make a comeback?

According to respected industry publication Automotive News, Swedish-born automaker Volvo is reportedly considering bringing a sedan and even a wagon back to its North American lineup as early as 2028.
These would be midsize, fully electric vehicles. It is expected that they could belong to the brand's 60 and/or 70 series and would be assembled in Europe.
Rumours even suggest that the Cross Country trim could make a return.
These vehicles could be based on the current SPA3 platform and feature an 800-volt architecture, similar to the one found in the EX60.
It was only last year that Volvo removed sedans from its U.S. lineup with the discontinuation of the S90. The V60 and V90 Cross Country wagons also disappeared from the lineup last spring.
