Cadillac's electric models will have to wait

Not so long ago, Cadillac, the luxury brand of American automotive giant General Motors, was saying that the future of most of its vehicles would be electric.

However, North American consumers have not embraced the transition to electric vehicles as quickly as expected, which has affected Cadillac's plans.

As a result, according to analysts at the long-established U.S. publication Automotive News, Cadillac is expected to extend the life of several of its internal combustion engine vehicles.

Among them, models once thought to be on their way out, such as the CT5 sedan and the XT5 and XT6 utility vehicles, are expected to be updated and redesigned, at least for the next few years.

Along the same lines, major changes should not be expected for Cadillac's current electric models, which are unlikely to receive significant updates before 2030.
