Japanese automaker Honda has decided to redesign its brand emblem starting in 2027, a change that will apply both to its vehicles and to company buildings. The new logo will retain the familiar “H” theme, but with a more stylized interpretation meant to resemble two slender vertical arms, symbolizing the brand’s commitment to “serving customer expectations.” On the vehicle side, the emblem will first appear on next-generation electric and hybrid models beginning in 2027. The outer border surrounding the logo will also be eliminated

The outer border surrounding the logo will also be eliminated. This will mark only the third major redesign of the emblem since its original introduction in 1963. The logo was first updated in 1969 and again in 1981. Since then, it has undergone only minor refinements, the most recent occurring in 2001. (Photo: Honda)
