GM Canada has announced a new $63 million CAD investment in its Oshawa assembly plant to modernize its stamping operations. This initiative is intended to prepare the facility for production of the next generation of full-size Chevrolet pickup trucks.

This investment comes in addition to the $280 million announced in June 2023, bringing the total investment to $1.5 billion since 2020.

The Oshawa complex is the only GM facility capable of producing light-duty (1500) and heavy-duty (Heavy Duty) Silverado pickup trucks on the same assembly line, operating across two shifts.
