It is at the upcoming New York Auto Show, taking place over the Easter weekend, that the “World Cars” will be revealed—also known as the “World Car of the Year” awards. These distinctions are granted by a major group made up of over 100 automobile journalists from around the globe.
Created by a group of Canadians, this competition, which began in 2004, is now in its 21st edition. Over time, the selection criteria have evolved, and the competition is now divided into five categories for 2025. Here are the finalists:
World Electric Car
World Luxury Car
World Performance Car
World Urban Car
World Car Design
It should be noted that the competition is sponsored by brake manufacturer Brembo.
