North Carolina police deploy Mustangs into service

In April 2024, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol announced the acquisition of 25 Mustang GT coupes for its patrol fleet. These high-performance vehicles have been deployed on the state's highways to combat excessive speeding, intercept violators, and ensure road safety.

North Carolina police are not the only ones adopting this type of vehicle. In May 2023, the state patrol services of Georgia and South Carolina also announced the purchase of Mustang GT (S650) coupes for similar missions. Several other police departments across the United States are expected to follow this trend.

These new Mustang GTs are gradually replacing the Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Camaro, both of which have been discontinued.
